He denied the words, āyou saved meā but he did. He had always been my lighthouse on a dark sea. Showing me paths to take: options. Never giving me a choice to fail, just simply showing me the paths. Protecting me from the crashing waves. Iāve realized I was abandoned the light no longer shown for I needed to learn to sea alone. Now heās the one at sea and Iām the lighthouse and Iām the one guiding him home.
Deployments can be so hard being separated from the one you love and trusting that they will come home leaves you staring out the window at the moon for countless hours of the night. Because wherever they are the moon is the only thing you both have in common.
