Departure of an Angel
A poem dedicated to a friend who deserved better
A drizzle of bad can test character
But a monsoon of bad can reveal to the world
That a lifetime doesn't deserve an angel.
Communities smothered in grays
Can have that spark that provides color
And the spark's weakness
Can be the strength fueling
The amazing perspectives he accesses.
Unfortunately, some folks don't deserve nice things.
And when they make an angel forget
That he has so much to offer,
Then he has to be sent off
To a lifetime who deserves his gifts.
Those who cared about him,
Who had loved him throughout his journey,
Might wish his stay could be longer,
But know a life with mistreatment
Can never be a Garden of Eden.
We will miss you, Adam.
You are loved
