A Poem a Day Series: June 15th, 2024

By Laura SmithPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

When we reach the part of the story

where the plot rolls down on from its peak

and the characters exchange meaningful glances

are we relieved?

There is comfort in completion

when turning the last page of the book

watching the movie credits roll

listening to the final chords of a song fade-

-and then, we’re alone.
