Demons won’t let me sleep

Every night is the same

Demons won’t let me sleep

Every night I close my eyes,

the demons say, “Open them,”

taking me by surprise.

They bring out all the old crap

locked away that all about you.

Before I know it, I am wide awake,

crying like I always do.

How can one man be so wicked,

hurt with fists and wicked tongue?

Why was I with you 14 years?

Now I play thoughts,

like an old record a song.

I sing; old love songs,

then tears start to flow.

I am drowning in my own thoughts.

You died you took the easy way out,

Leaving me with lap records

and tears drowning all my thoughts.
