Delicate

Flower

By Michele HastingsPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Hold your applause for society has no laws,

Even the prettiest flowers have flaws.

Some displayed beautifully while others painted into its inner walls,

sometimes it's our secrets that truly define us all.

Planted, deeply rooted to home.

Absolutely no where else to go.

Even the prettiest flowers wither,

even the nicest petals rot,

even the firmest stems bend,

and the sweetest scents fade.

We are not immune to destruction.

Some flowers aren't made to function.

Red, Yellow, Pink, Purple, Blue.

Each flower brings something new.

Each flower grown to perfection, and picked

before the freeze. Some left and some taken

by the breeze.

You are as beautiful as your favorite flower,

and I choose you.
