Deeper

Nothing Like Drowning

You smile at

Me

And Billie Eilish

Sings about

Ocean eyes;

We both talk about

How we've

Been running

Our whole lives,

Assuming we

Meant ‘away’

When maybe

We've been running

Towards

Each

Other;

(is this the part where we

Stay?)

You ask questions

That sink deep,

You let me

Take up space

(can you breathe?)

I want to know

What flows in you,

You look at me

And I'm drenched in

Blue…

But nothing like drowning.

I float on the

Waves of your gaze,

You look at me like I'm

Something amazing–

And maybe

I am?

I don't feel worthy,

But perhaps that's not

Up to me.

You sparkle, I'm

Dazzled by your

Brilliance,

The sunlight on

The surface, and

I want to dive into

The darker parts you

Hint at,

But

all

in

time.

Your song is sweet,

And I'm at your feet,

liable to

Crash against your

Rocks, enchanted.

It seems

I've landed

At sea.
