In the realm where hearts entwine,
A tapestry of love divine.
Beneath the moon's soft, silver sheen,
A tale unfolds of love unseen.
Deep as oceans, vast and wide,
Two souls in love, side by side.
A dance of spirits, a silent song,
In the night where they belong.
Whispers weave through the gentle breeze,
As love unfolds like autumn leaves.
A symphony of sighs, a tender touch,
A connection that means so much.
In the depths of passion's embrace,
A reflection of each other's grace.
Eyes that speak a language unspoken,
A bond that cannot be broken.
Through valleys low and mountains high,
Love's journey takes them to the sky.
Hand in hand, through joy and sorrow,
They face the dawn of each tomorrow.
Through every storm and sunny day,
Love's anchor holds, come what may.
A flame that burns, steadfast and true,
Igniting hearts in shades of blue.
Deep love, a melody sweet and slow,
A river that continues to flow.
In the garden of emotions, it blooms,
Chasing away all impending glooms.
So let the stars bear witness above,
To this profound and endless love.
In the silence where true love lies,
Two souls united, bound for skies.

A Flower Song
Apparently the Aztecs, Toltecs, Chichimecs and other Mexica were crazy about poetry. Despite the book-burning, slaughter, and epidemics that characterized the early stages of the Spanish conquest of the empires of Mexico, some hundreds of poems from the height of their tradition come down to us in Classical Nahuatl, preserved by Nahua and Spanish scholars of the 16th century. One of the most famous poets, Nezahualcoyotl, was a sage-king who opposed the cult of human sacrifice associated with Tezcatlipoca, God of the Smoking Mirror, and favored Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent. Flowers and feathers were the favorite offering of the Plumed Serpent. Moreover, flowers and feathers are a metaphor for poetry. Individual words, scattered petals, the down of tropical birds. The temples of blood sacrifice could be transformed into temples of flower and song. A sublimated offering to the Heart of Earth and the Heart of Sky encapsulated in the Classical Nahuatl kenning for poetry: in xōchitl in cuīcatl, meaning, "the flower and the song."
