Hidden away since last Autumn's solstice

summer comes forth with her days ripe and full

A party prepared by a popular hostess,

our hearts are drawn forth by its tug and its pull.

Aromas of lilacs and blossoms of apples

point toward the rich fertile future to come.

Touch their moist coolness, inhale their deep promise

of warm days and long walks and beaches and fun.

Arching white Bridal Wreath heralds our June brides

soon will adorn church aisles, parks and green lawns

Each one as lovely as roses whose buds now

design from soft petals a gown of their own.

A debut cotillion dress, coming out, if you will

Queen Summer's sweet entrance. The end of our chill.
