Dearest Fool,

A letter.

Dearest Fool,

If only you knew

what was offered.

How many times you would glance away,

deflect, distract.

To take anything but.

To enjoy all else, except.

There is no fear in Love

but creeping fear ruled the days

and love was pretend

or presented

But not returned

by you.

It was not always this way.

You were a part of Love.

Raised in so much

that the filling of you

pushed away dark & callous things.

Rocked you in a solid cradle

wherein you grew.

until one day there was only -

you.

Until so many years were gone

and you were looking back

not on,

at the other side of love,

that you were the presenter of.

The one who offered

but was refused

by some other fool.

If only they knew too.

-Love, You.
