An overtired letter (rant)

I did everything you asked of me. I put my other things aside and made sure to make time for you. I even took you up on the set time you suggested.

I made sure that I wasn't late. I did everything right.

But you still aren't following through for me.

You're here, a presence that seeps under my tongue and into my veins

But you're not working.

It isn't working.

I'm kept up at night worrying,

Thinking about things I should not be worrying about.

Things that kept me up last night,

and the night before,

and the night before,

but that's what this whole schedule thing was supposed to fix.

You were supposed to fix this.

So why am I still awake right now?

Why haven't you helped?

Maybe I need something else.
