Dear Beat-Up Dandy Dingy,

The holes you've left in my heart has brought on more water than the hole that rock punctured in you.

I am filled with salt that never dries enough.

My glass fogs misty.

I am oh so far from you.

Do you remember that one riverside picnic? You were covered with crumbs.

We laughed as ant legs tickled your insides, your wooden sides creaking with joy.

It was such a beautiful day.

But now, we are miles apart, seperated by more than just walls and water.

I stand here, peppered with responsibility, and sticky with regret.

I long to be back in your embrace, swaying to the current of our love.

Maybe one day, we'll float away into the sunset. Maybe one day you'll save me. We'll patch each other up, only to spill into one another again.

I miss you terribly.

Love always,

Your sprinkle of seasoning, the shaker of your soul,

Salt.
