Dear Angelina,

A letter from my character to another

By EssiePublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read
Angelina from my upcoming story 'The Hunter of the Kitsu.' (Not my art. From Pinterest).

I never got your letter, Angel

The one you left me in my porch

I was sent to the Manor

The overachiever, wasn't I, Lina?

You thought I was coming home, didn't you?

So did I

They put me in a room, and Angel

I swear I could hear you cry

Bu you weren't there

You were writing a letter back in Rye

Lina, I was not angry with you

I thought you were going to die

They did things to me

I am changed, I am somewhere they can't find

I am glad it was me

But Angel, did you not hear me cry?

I was away, not in Rye, I was kept away

From you Lina,

The moment they took me, I cursed the fading of the light

Why didn't I run faster, Angel?

Did I even try?

They were on me like wolves

Jagged teeth, rabid eyes, oh Lina,

I cursed the fading of the light

And I don't know if I can even look at you the same

You were mine, weren't you? For a time

You were mine Angel,

But they changed me, Lina

Hunted, kept away from light

Fear is everything

And the claws in my cheeks

Tell me my mind is not mine.

From Tora.
