Deal with the Devil

The War of Heaven and Hell

I saw the Devil and the Lord talking as if they were best of friends

The Devil said to the Mighty one “Let’s bring this to an end“

God replied to Lucifer whilst drinking a glass of wine

“Come into my garden, yours is not as nice as mine”.

The Devil looked around and smiled then knelt down on one knee

Then laughing to him-self out loud asked “Do you remember that bloody tree?”

Jehovah turned to his fallen friend and tried so hard to smile

But the Devil just laughed with a mighty roar that could heard for more than a mile.

They had played in the past many games to work out what to do

They even had a party once washed down with a special brew

This titanic two had thrown everything at each other over time

And every time the Devil won he claimed “This world is mine”

“This life has teeth and many claws” said the Devil to the Lord

“So come on Jo justify your speech I’m getting rather bored”

Then God stood up and with a frown he whispered many words

Then Lucifer found himself surrounded by flowers and beasts and birds.

“A parlour trick with little effect I can better that”

Then from under his filthy bloodied cloak he threw at the Lord a rat.

Then another and a snake and spiders with large fangs

And as the he threw he laughed out loud with lightning and thunder bangs.

“So once again we play this game” said God to Lucifer

“Lets sit down now once and for all the future on which we prefer

By splitting the world into each half we will end this pitiful plight

Then a war will start once more for only you and me to fight.

Angels flew, both white and red and stood either side of the two

Then the Devil laughed and held out arm” I’ll even shake your hands with you”

God turned away without shaking his hand and said “You know how I feel"

So the two just stood and spoke no words but knew they had to strike a deal.

Now back on Earth they fight once more throwing one life after another

Turning mankind against itself, making brother wage war on brother

A book was written a song was sung telling us all of the fight

Then depending in which God you believe you sit and prey at night

The Lord stands tall now sword in hand with Gabriel by his side

He searches all the lands and sea the Devil shall not hide

Lucifer builds a wall of souls hiding him from the Lord

Yet sitting here with Trident ready the Devil is getting bored.

The Devil stands on top of a hill looking down on all mankind

Making moves to start a war his hoard no more to hide

God faces the Devil and they fight till dawn

Man kind lives on another child born

This child will grow and be a man and build himself a home

The Devil will try to burn it down and God will fix broken bone

Their swords will clash their fists are red with blood on broken skin

And after fighting for a thousand years neither man will win.

So at this time and with a breath they both sit down and cry

For neither God or Lucifer can remember who, what or why

God stands up and looks around “Let me tell you how I feel”

Then Lucifer rises and asks the Lord ”Are you offering me a deal?”

They now sit down around a table the Lord is supping tea

The Devil drinks a Whiskey neat balancing the bottle on his knee

The two men drink and draw a plan about how to divide mankind

The answer is to wipe out Religion and let them their own way to find.

Mankind now has no God to love, no Devil to blame for sin

Man simply has himself to blame and the predicament he is in

No faith, no Church, no love or hate, no temptation to be a sinner.

It is agreed that without Religion mankind will be the winner.
