picture us back when we were nimble and spry...
a honeysuckle-coated backdrop under the hazy twilight
remember how crickets cried out...
in a constant chorus of love-making and strife
we could run like the wind until we laughed 'til we cried
I can still taste the bitter august blues and how they stood the test of time,
time and time again we said our goodbyes...
pen to paper until the bloody ink ran dry
but i never forgot the way you smiled with your eyes,
so bottomless and bright but filled with brine
Picture us dazed in the summer hive
we felt loved and infinite and we felt alive
