Daylight and Dog

None

Daylight dressed in her light blue gown

Dances with such delight.

Wearing the sun like a golden crown

A most auspicious sight.

The clouds are soft and bathe her in white

Around her shoulders lay

Like beautiful birds caught up in flight.

On her light blue gown they play.

But not alone in her stately dance,

A small dark figure sways.

A little Dog, her companion by chance

In her gown it cautiously stays.

As Daylight pushes away the dark night,

Her crown upon her head,

She reaches down and hugs Dog tight

It’s friend in place of dread.
