Darkness

Cold dark nothing

Dark

The darkness came without a sound,

And wrapped its arms around the ground.

The moon looked down with silver tears,

Upon a world of hidden fears.

The lonely streets were cold and bare,

With whispered voices in the air.

The shadows danced upon the wall,

As midnight heard the silence call.

A broken heart, a troubled mind,

With memories it left behind.

The darkness knew each secret pain,

And watched the tears fall down like rain.

Behind the windows, candles burned,

For those whose loved ones never returned.

Their photographs upon the wall,

Were silent witnesses to it all.

The night concealed a thousand cries,

Beneath its dark and starless skies.

While lonely souls lay wide awake,

With aching hearts about to break.

Some darkness lives within the soul,

Where broken dreams have taken hold.

It hides behind a smiling face,

And leaves behind an empty space.

Yet even darkness has an end,

Although our broken hearts won't mend.

The morning comes with gentle light,

To chase the shadows of the night.

But some will always fear the dawn,

For everything they loved has gone.

And darkness feels like their old friend,

Who understands them till the end.
