Dark Love
You arrived without a warning
Soft words wrapped in velvet skin
Nothing looked like danger then
Until I slowly let you in
You knew where silence used to live
You learned the shape of every scar
Moved through me like dark weather
Never asking who you are
You loved in ways that left no bruises
Only shadows I could not explain
People saw two hands together
I carried storms and called it rain
You spoke of forever often
Like a promise carved in stone
Yet forever turned uncertain
Each time you left me on my own
The nights grew longer than they should
The mornings colder than before
I stopped counting all the reasons
And started closing every door
Love should not feel like disappearing
Love should not make daylight fade
Some hearts survive the deepest darkness
Others live inside the shade
I still remember how you looked
Standing where the hallway bends
Like something beautiful and broken
That never wanted happy ends
Now your name stays far behind me
No echo follows where I go
Dark love taught me one true lesson
Even cold can learn to glow
