exploring inspiration, womanhood and forever love with my best friend
how does one describe
the way the wind
dances
across a sand dune.
imaginative and free,
by the name of Nkechi,
floating
through mountains of sand,
finding beauty with each grain in hand.
sampling
life experiences like
ice cream in a creamery,
Nkechi.
savoring every bite,
exhaling vibrant light,
sister
partner
lover
life.
floating through time,
a glimmer of night.
some bonds can never be broken,
and I am happy to squeeze
close
under our
Gemella
umbrella.
to know the way the wind
dances
across the sand dune is to feel
the emotion
of your motion.

The narrative voice of the poem doesn’t really want to be outside, but finds joy in the green things of the earth; this is a lovely work of resilience.
