You broke me

Shattered me into a million pieces

And scattered them across the floor

I was hoping we could start fresh

But the scotch tape wouldn’t hold

There’s so much more I could do with my life

Just forget it ever happened

Why isn’t there a procedure

To fix a broken heart

I wanted to enjoy the ride

I never thought we were til death do us part

I just never thought it would happen like this

With me twirling in the wind

While you’re the one moving on

I can’t keep punishing me for your mistakes

It’s time I forgive and forget

But how can I forgive what I can’t forget

I needed to prove them all wrong

I stayed too long

I think I’m done

We can never be there again

The Band Aid won’t hold

So I guess it’s time to let you go

heartbreak
