Crystalis

shifting seasons

A smile, so grand and yet

A gimmick, to mimic home.

Your eyes lured me to the unknown.

Gloom lies in your shadow,

And with heartbreak on your mind,

Self-sabotage won this battle,

Raging wars on the inside.

Love is left in its wake.

Encapsulated in me you remain.

Your pain became mine and I absolved us both,

Impatiently waiting to turn grief into growth.

A transformation of sorts, into this abyss,

Contorted and unsorted, I’ve tried to be remiss.

My light is the only flame down this unpaved path,

A constant fleeting love, just out of my grasp.
