Crying For You

That’s all I ever do

Crying For You

The record turns beneath a patient hand,

Its surface worn by nights that would not heal.

Your voice arrives the way it always planned,

Not loud or sharp, just honest, slow, and real.

The room grows smaller when that first note plays,

As if the walls remember where you stood.

I breathe you in through borrowed yesterdays,

Words once meant more than silence could.

Each crackle knows the moments we misplaced,

The things we said too late, or not at all.

Time lingers here, unwilling to be faced,

While shadows stretch along the listening wall.

I sit and let the chorus say your name,

Not calling out, just holding what remains.

This song was never meant to soothe the pain,

It keeps it close, it teaches it to stay.

There is no drama in the way I ache,

No tears that fall on cue or beg for view.

Just quiet proof of every choice we made,

And all the love that learned to live askew.

So let it spin until the end is near,

Until the needle lifts and truth comes through.

This sound is all I have that keeps you here,

This record knows I am still crying for you.
