Cry Baby Cry
As long as there is hurt the tears will flow

Cry Baby Cry
Cry baby cry beneath the bedroom light
Pillow soaked heavy through another long night
Tiny cracked heartbeat too wounded to sleep
Trying so hard all the hurt not to keep
They called you dramatic whenever you wept
Mocked all the feelings you desperately kept
As though soft hearts were a weakness to hide
Instead of proof something living survived
Tears rolled silent like rain down your face
Falling unnoticed all over the place
Nobody asking what caused all the pain
Only demanding you toughen again
Cry baby cry till your whole chest shakes
Sometimes that pressure is too much to take
Sorrow grows poisonous buried too deep
Grief needs a doorway somewhere it can seep
One day the crying simply grew still
Not because healing had entered your will
Something inside you just finally froze
A sadness too tired to openly show
Now when you comfort another in pain
Your voice grows gentle like soft falling rain
Perhaps the broken know best what to say
After surviving such dark heavy days
So cry baby cry if your heart needs release
Not every storm arrives shattering peace
Some tears are sacred and painfully true
Proof there is still something human in you
