The Shadow of Love

One Spring day in May our eyes met in the street my heart felt intense and skipped a beat. A look, a stare, love at first sight? I sensed great joy and profound delight. The traffic was moving, my head in a spin I tripped over my feet and you gave me a grin. You reached out to catch me and held out your arm, you smiled and I laughed at your virtuous charm. The instant attraction proved right from that day, our eyes became rooted “Hello, you okay”?

Our worlds now collided like portals of light, and the surge that passed through us was a flash of insight. With a smile and a laugh our emotions in view, our eyes flowed with life and we felt love anew. Desired encounters ensued through the Spring we met in the park where the robins did sing. We shared a park bench in the Garden of Love, your hand fit in mine like a well worn out glove. We dated and dined over months over years, we stood by each other through fears and tears. We live now together alive to this day, our hearts beating bold in immortality. We hold and we stroke our victory and say “to have and to hold our love melody.”
