Morning light shining through the crack in the curtains

A king-sized comforter on a queen bed

Tea with too much lemon that makes you smile around the sour as you sip because it was made with love

Fingers running through hair

Distant laughter and far-off cheers

The gentle hum of light rain falling

A needle pulling thread through taut fabric

Delicate creases at the corners of eyes that have seen many happy moments

Old sweater with a hole in the sleeve that's been patched twice over

Friendship bracelet from someone you haven't spoken to in years

Books with covers holding on by a thread

Wildflower bouquets picked on the way home

My favorite dinner waiting for me

Slurping of soup off of a small spoon

Ice cubes clinking in a rocks glass

Synchronized yawns and the twin grins that follow

Sleepy forehead kisses

Falling asleep next to the love of your life
