CREATING LIGHT

THE DARKNESS OVERWHELMS SOCIETY

This is a poem I wrote today about a brief encounter with an old flame of yesteryear. It was a very brief encounter, but I left with PTSD in the subconscious that I had to express by writing about the brief encounter. There are covert narcissists and malignant narcissists. I get irritated and move forward to not give them control now or in the future. I forgive, but I do not forget. I am an empath.

Why do we create dark spaces to hide in?

Why do we sign by the pen,

To give away our souls in despair

As though we care.

Why do others look to boss everyone,

As though if no lose control it will not be fun?

So, I dream at night

As I hold myself tight.

Why are the narcissists so mean?

It is who they are as their own King or Queen.

The world turns and spins around

Continuously bound

To spin around again as the narcissist walks this way.

Their feet sound so loud

As they try to make all proud

Of their verbal abuse projections

Of it’s all someone else's fault for elections.

Why does a narcissist complain behind closed doors?

Why do narcissists spread their lies of deep darkness?

They will scream, they will rape society into carcasses.

I am so bored with narcissists as they stroll,

Along the streets and hills so bold.

They wine and dine their victim to impress

As they complement their date’s dress.

Then they say, “What a lucky guy I am!”

They move in with one

In the sun,

But darkness overwhelms the empath of light.

Then they try to destroy the light so brightly.

This is a poem to wonder away from

Or to

To prevent one from being blue.

I smile, walk out the door,

To return to the narcissist nevermore.

“An old soul and empath dreamer of many lifetimes.”

“A narcissist is someone who has an exaggerated sense of self-importance, a need for excessive admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. Some of the common characteristics of narcissism are:

• Being overly boastful, exaggerating one’s achievements.

• Pretending to be superior to others

• Looking down on others as inferior

• Expecting special favors and treatment

• Taking advantage of others to get what they want.

• Being envious of others and believing others envy them.

• Behaving in an arrogant way, bragging a lot and coming across as conceited

• Having difficulty handling criticism or feedback

• Having major problems interacting with others and easily feeling slighted

• Having trouble managing their emotions and behavior

Narcissism is a mental health condition that can cause problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school, or financial matters. People with narcissism may be unhappy and disappointed when they don’t receive the special recognition or admiration that they believe they deserve. They may also find their relationships troubled and unfulfilling, and other people may not enjoy being around them.

Narcissism can be treated with psychotherapy, which can help the person understand their condition and manage their emotions. Sometimes, medications may be prescribed to manage some of the symptoms, such as depression or anxiety. However, people with narcissism may not seek help or admit that they have a problem, which can make treatment challenging.

“An empath is someone who feels and absorbs the emotions and energies of others and has an elevated level of sensitivity and intuition. Some of the characteristics of an empath are:

• They have a lot of empathy and compassion for others.

• They can sense and understand other people’s moods and feelings.

• They often need alone time to recharge and avoid emotional overload.

• They are easily overwhelmed by crowds, noise, and chaotic environments.

• They have a strong intuition and trust their gut feelings.

• They are often introverted and prefer one-to-one or small group interactions.

• They are good listeners and nurturers.

• They may have difficulty setting boundaries and saying no.

• They may attract energy vampires who drain their energy.

• They may experience physical symptoms or pain from absorbing other people’s emotions.

Empaths are not necessarily born that way, but they may develop their empathic abilities through life experiences, trauma, or genetics. Empaths can learn to manage their sensitivities and protect themselves from negative energies by practicing self-care, meditation, grounding, and shielding techniques. Empaths can also use their gifts to help others, heal themselves, and create positive change in the world.
