That first kiss split my lip,

as the strength of your passion

knocked the wind out of me.

I was a fish out of water,

until your love filled an ocean between us,

gasping gills revert back to lungs filling with sonnets

as you build a bridge between our consciousness.

We sprouted & took root together,

becoming out own entity.

My branches grew to shade yours,

and your roots grew to steady us both.

Your skin is an addiction,

I long to taste in your absence.

I crave the stardust in your soul,

the same stardust that brought me to life.
