Cartography of Desire

In the cramped, fading fire space

where spooks writhe like restless animals

I'm trapped with you, our skeletons

tangled in a knot of desperation

The air reeks of stale sweat

and yesterday's regret

our breathing, a syncopated rhythm

that underscores the tension

Your eyes, like two splintered mirrors

reflect the darkness within

as you grasp my wrist, a vice-like grip

that holds me in place, a captive

The walls, a cold, unforgiving slab

that presses in, a physical weight

our skin, a composition of suppressed desires

etched with the lines of unspoken needs

Your mouth, a indistinct foretell

of release, of freedom from this cage

as you draw closer, your hot breath

a branding iron that sears my skin

In this confined, airless space

our bodies, a slow-burning fire

that consumes us, a hunger

that cannot be satiated, only fed

The sound of our ragged breathing

is the only backing track we need

as we lose ourselves in the echoes

of our confinement, our passion

Your fingers, a slow, deliberate exploration

of my skin, a topography of desire

as you map the lineaments of my anatomy

like a cartographer charting uncharted territory

In this dark, cramped space

we find a strange, twisted freedom

our passion, a wild, unbridled thing

that cannot be contained, only unleashed
