Confession of a News Junkie

Thank you, BBC

Thanks to BBC

I became a news junkie;

At first it wasn’t easy

Up all hours, oh, so busy --

Trolling global news on cable TV.

The CNN lady was the link

That licked and pricked my think;

Featured on the BBC wink by wink

The Mideast reports she spouted so thick --

With bias and tilt making her a fink.

And a fink she was with her news angle

Twirled to one side was her wangle;

But, clued in as I was to BBC bungle

I trolled the world news cycles in a tangle --

Even bugged my Mideast kith to truth-wrangle.

Turning into an addict for truth in news

Converted into a geek to hunt for unbiased views;

Managed to identify news that are biased brews

Sources whose proclaimed objectivity is just a ruse —

No more blinkers for news media that are truth-loose.

Thank you, BBC

I’m still a news junkie

And will always be

Looking through your mendacity

Until your partisanship turns into verity.
