my velvety tongue
to catch the oozy
of sweet grape jelly.
Cruising
from side
to side
on rough bready edges.

Peanut butter

grape jelly
sandwiched
between
airy
white bread.

A snack
that is
one for
the ages.

Tis time
to relive
the gooey
and chewy,
buttery
amber golden
spread
that coats
my mouth
with rich
nutty flavors.

Along with
this playful
symphony is
tangy grape jelly
as sweet
as a purple
lilac.
A mingling
of old friends
sweet and savory.

Each nibble
is an escape
back to
comfort
home
and good reliable friend.

Remembering the rink
If you were there, youβll never forget it. For decades, Durham Ice Rink was at the heart of the cityβs social life. From Friday night ice discos to crowds roaring on the Wasps every Sunday, not to mention a proud history of figure skating and speed skating, the riverside rink was the place to be.

PB&J are not a thing here in Aus, though we know it only too well. Our national children's sandwich would be Fairy Bread, which is buttered white bread with sprinkles (hundreds and thousands) shaken over them. We used to be able to buy this at school. My throw back sandwich is peanut butter and banana. I still eat them today. I love the nostalgia of this poem
