Love and Chemistry

She said she wouldn’t leave

But we all say that sort of thing.

Mabe cause we didn’t realize we weren’t

Looking past the moment, and all the

Potential of change and circumstance.

{

I said I’d never leave because that was a

Promise I knew that I could keep in sight.

Probably because I didn’t consider the fact

That things can go astray in the course of a night.

{

Though what I said was true and right it doesn’t

Solidify into reality. It’s only good to say for

As long as she could stand me.

{

To say you’re never leaving is like gasoline saying

It won’t change once it meets a flame.

Wait until it does.

    I've had soooooo many people say they won't leave me, who eventually left me. Loved your poem!
