It’s becoming clear

perfectly crystal

We are sitting in the dark

trying desperately to become someone else

Yielding everything we are

energy

dreams

boundaries

and soul

To be discarded

sacrificed into the dark

Mending scars of being needed

magnets of the broken heart

Survivors -

wounded healers

loving carriers of light

Targets of narcissistic reapers

lessons learned of fight or flight

Colliding with the shadows

becoming wrestlers of the dark

Re-lighting melted candles

trying to salvage a single spark

*

Masks fall, shedding scales

revealing rebirth underneath

We inhale and then exhale

learning again how we should breathe

Soulmates to the shadow

learning the lessons darkness brings

The pain and sorrow allows

the empath's healing heart to sing
