Cold Side Of Midnight

Longest nights empty and cold

Cold Side Of Midnight

There are nights that feel long

without a cause to name.

You sit with your own thoughts

and let them fill the room.

Old memories return

without being invited.

Not asking to be heard

just showing up again.

You think of different roads

and places left behind.

And wonder for a while

if things could look different.

The dark does not feel sad

it only feels too still.

Like something stayed awake

when everything else slept.

I used to chase those thoughts

and turn them into weight.

Now I let them arrive

and leave the way they came.

Not every thought is truth

not every fear stays real.

Some moments feel too large

until the morning comes.

You learn to sit with things

without needing a fix.

Some nights are only nights

and nothing more than that.

So I let midnight pass

and stop asking it why.

Tomorrow comes again

and I move with the day.
