Cold.

You're freezing.

Close your eyes and look the other way darlings, this will be bitter.

I wish I could say, I hope your body never feels warmth again.

That shiver that crawls down your back will never cease.

Your skin will grow cold, ight, and no amount of rubbing will bring it back to life.

That warmth I gave to you drains, like the blood from your cheeks.

You will be chasing that heat from the rest of your life.

Craving delicate touches from my hands while you huddle under those blankets.

Like you did in winter, wrapped in layers, pulling the pillow you wanted to be me close.

On that drive when you spent hours in the ditch, our pictures kept you alive.

My dears you can look now, I wish I could tell you this a thousand times.

Suddenly, my skin is too hot for my bones and it burns me to my core.

I want your hands to graze my tender flesh and cool the fire.

Maybe we can tangle beneath stars to restore the balance inside each other.

This is our equilibrium, this makes us complete.

You'll never be warm without me and I will never cool again.

Knocked out of our harmony, lost and anxious, we won't feel right without each other.

We will spend forever trying to bring out souls back together.

Cool and cold, hot and warm.

About the Creator

Rabbit

I see the world a little differently than most. Even at a young age I was writing down what I saw but never sharing it with a soul until now. I'm choosing love over fear.
