For Cocoa Hearts

postmarked by Mama's love:

The bitter cold days would start

with the alarm clock going off

Mama's comforting voice was soft,

"Come on, now wake up.

Dreams were sweet

Life was managing

to make ends meet.

Poverty hidden from our eyes

Our family had sufficient supplies

Provisions ...

due to Mama's efforts to

keep our cocoa hearts afloat with

Precision.

Mama's voice was soft,

"Come on, now, wake up".

Each morning she filled our cups

with warm, bubbling care

sending us into the frosty air.

Our cocoa hearts covered in

Mama's love ...

Care that fit like a glove

with chocolate dreams bundled close

to our cocoa hearts.

Reminiscing,

A Heartfelt Memory
