Coal (raw)

Here’s the raw version of ‘Coal’ I have written last December 2023. Unedited, unrefined, just purely my thoughts..💭

It’s almost 3AM

there’s a breeze slipping under the door

the room is filled with darkness

and I don’t know why I thought of us again,

but I did.

Memories crawl in and I’m wrapped in sheets like they’re your arms

sinking deeper
..

your love still lingers on me like scent, like heat that won’t leave my skin.

I thought it ended..

I told myself it ended.

But no—

you still haunt me, my lover

with how we were used to be
,

how you used to say my name;

my lovely

my beautiful baby

I miss you

God I miss you

your touch

your warmth

The way it fed every part of
me

my heart

my flesh

my soul

But you set it all on fire
, left me in the burn.

And now, our love is just a coal.

Something cold, black and small,

but still there..

And like ashes blown into the night

I still remember the day you walked away, my love.

I stood there, and I knew I had to leave too.

But I haven’t

not really..

not yet

only God—

only God will let me.
