I hate the make-up and the music

I hate you for trying to be funny

I hear the stupid trombone in the background

The children laugh but

I ain't laughin'

that silly sad face you make and those

oversized shoes

you tryin' to take my blues and

turn it into laughter

flap... flap... flap of those stupid shoes

and that silly sad face... you're mocking me

you move your head from left to right you

do the turtleneck... you're so stupid

You show me a picture of a woman in a bikini

you smile and nod your head

The trombone plays and you nod your head

and you nod your head and you

nod your head

you stop and a bunch of other clowns with instruments

come behind you and start playing Michael Jackson's "Beat It"

You're a clown with big shoes on dancing like Michael Jackson

I hate you 'cause I'm laughin'

you invaded my blues and you took it away

you disarmed me in a way that I didn't expect and took a selfie with me and invited all of your other clown friends to be in it.

and after that, you all get in a line, smile, and start high stepping to the music.

arm in arm you all do a chorus line kick

and a bunch of flowers pop out of your hat

I'm laughin' but.... you ain't done.

The clown band plays "Smile" written by Charlie Chaplin

You sing and the lady clown does ballet around me and

then does the 'bump' with me as the clown band inserts disco music into the song.

the crowd is laughing...I'm laughin'

I hate you because you're taking my blues away

I don't wanna laugh...but I'm laughin'

and I hate you because I'm laughin'

the trombone clown does a split

and comes back up in a standing position

the trombone clown does a split and comes back up in a

standing position

they're all looking at me and

You are too

I hate you...but I'm laughing

I hate you... but I'm laughing

I hate you but...you're a clown... and I'm laughing

you're trying to make my blues into an empty space....

I hate you

My deep darkness must have its place

I hate you

I keep losing my mad face

my dark heart...my darkness

you're giving kids balloons you

give me one too and pop yours and look surprised

I hate you... I'm laughin'

Laughter is everywhere

I hate you...but I keep laughin'

I wish you would stop...I wish you would just let me be

but you and your clown friends keep dancin' around me

doin' the Hustle and the Funky Chicken

the Batman Dance...and the Cabbage patch

then you start doin' the Robot and honkin' a bicycle horn

and your clown friends all join in....

I hate you and your friends but I

Keep laughin'

at you and them

I wanna get mad...Wanna walk away

wanna go were my anger can't be disturbed

but you won't go away

the conga line starts and I get mad

the crowd joins in and I'm in the middle hating you

Hating this thing you do...making people laugh when they don't want to

I hate you...but I'm laughin'

I can't stop... that's why I hate you more...

Laughing so hard my ribs are sore and

there's tears in my eyes... I hate you...I can't stand you

but I'm laughin' harder than when you started makin' me laugh at the

start... and

I hate you...but I'm laughin'

I... Hate...You...But I keep laughin'

Then I realize

that I can't hate you anymore...because... I'm too busy...

Laughin'...
