Clean

From "Delta" and "The Corona Poems"

For the first time

I’m considering smoking

I’m showering twice a day

I sanitize everything

People are terrified

To be near each other

Soon we’ll all be veterans

Of this War on Sanity

Soon we will rebel

Maybe tomorrow

I’ll go to the bridge

That serves as a homeless hotel

And for a dollar each

I’ll have a group of the homeless

Underwashed addicts and alcoholics

Hug me en masse

For another $2 each

I’d invite them to vomit on the earth

Cheap wine from empty bellies

Blending together

So I can roll in it

Then I can be human again
