Down down - gasp
The fall is long, falling slow.
The darkness creeps like dusk, like shadows
lengthening slow, slow - exhale
Dark lines blurring, vertical
like trees or people, creeping.
Falling down the deepest pit, a droning
voices murmur murmur murmur
humming in the mind - snap.
Laughter. A crack - the desk hits my forehead.
CRACK
My pen, my binder falling, hitting the floor.
A complete disaster - the shadows lighten, revealing
a teacher - professor
frowning, scowling, angry?
Yes. Irritated - yelling!
I fell asleep again. Sprawling, crashing
interrupting class. It ends - the shadow turns back
to lecture lecture lecture, shadows form
the dusk returns.
A sweet return, the sleep the sleep.
