Clandestine

Smoke and the Withered Ground

By Ryan WelchPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

Clandestine:

Calm white eyes

Look above us all

Cleansing tears

Falling from the sky

Drowning us all

Mountain peaks

Clear upon the black

Ravens call

High upon her thrall

Singing her psalm

I remember taste of fortune

Calm white eyes

Look upon the trees

Bloody earth

Seep into us all

Render and lie

Throw the anchors to the shore

Leave the wolves at bay

Become the sea she

Sleeps with her dreams

Now home

Hanging at the gallows pole

Made from bone and

Gold things so precious

Where was the good at all

Calm white eyes

Peer into the soul

Crying til dawn
