I woke up from a peaceful dream

Into a cold reality

Wanting desperately to flee those feelings

And retreat into what was left behind

**

Open 24/7, but not all at once

**

Tangled in the kind love

That you feel before a loss

An extraordinary, ordinary love

You'd pay to save at any cost

Turns out, was only make believe

I thought that love might set me free

The truth is, you never really wanted me

Caught up in another form of slavery

Until I decided to walk away

The chains released and to this day

The only thing that made me change

Was loving me, more than the pain
