A short Poem about a first encounter with an alien
One night, after hearing a creak, I went to the Livingroom what I saw left me unable to speak
I stumble and lead the way to my tv, after all it's the end of my work week
So many questions, but in an aliens presence I'm awestruck and weak
I show it two movies, 'Men In Black' and 'Dark Skies' and wait until the end, not to ruin the mystique
At the movie watching conclusion, I simply ask, "Which is more accurate?", slightly tongue in cheek
Followed more seriously by "Why?!", not to critique
Shocked and unable to digest it all, I make us meat loaf sandwiches, to continue our friendly streak
Interrupted by a drip drip drip that disturbed my guest, even as I explained it was just our sink
Uninterested and spooked It dashed to the door, giving the handle a tweak
Irrational and bewitched I ask, "Can I go with you?! I promise I'm no more of a freak?"
My phone dings, I grab it and look down at the screen, it fits in my hand so sleek
As I glance up to an empty room, my phone flashes a cover for "Signs", I assume a response, even if oblique
Aware of the room I see books, a laptop, my phone, and various antiques
All the items I could have shown if selfish curiosity hadn't needed to speak
After much contemplation, all that was left, was eerie envisioning, a next meeting, predicted to be more perilous for me with better human handling techniques
Sent from my Galaxy
