Christmas Eve
Mikeydred's Second Poetic Challenge in The Vocal Social Society - Cathy Holmes
This is a series of short sonnets based on suggestions by Vocal friends in the Vocal Social Society. I will include a suitable video as well.
The challenge is “Give me a subject and five words and I will try and create a sonnet”.
This is from Caroline Jane:
Subject: Christmas Eve
Words: Cheese crackers mistletoe wine bells.

It's Snowing Out on Christmas Eve
I'm warm inside, Crackers and Cheese
Mistletoe hangs, Wait For A Kiss
A Glass of wine, Someone I miss
֎
Church Bells are ringing, Christmas Night
Midnight Mass? I thought that I might
But I am warm and so comfy
I laze and drink my wine slowly
֎
A song comes on, this is the time
Cliff Richard, Mistletoe and Wine
There are worse songs that I have heard
Aitch Webb's Millennium Prayer
֎
Let the Church Bell's Ring Out Their Song
That Christmas Kiss Won't Be Too Long

I am in a daze! What did I do? Did I give the words? Too tired to compute. Sorry Mike, am just not with it! Been a long few days. ❤️
Full of cheer 🎄
Lovely Christmas sonnet..
Sonnet brought me right to Christmas Eve🎄 Even if it was the middle of July! Love it!
