How do you react when you're mistreated by someone? Most of us would retaliate, largely in a passive-aggressive manner.

Revenge, however, isn't always sweet. It often, in fact, leaves other tastes in one's mouth. Let's try instead to serve it cold; express our discontent positively.

Chocolate cake

Seems sweet

Sublime cocoa within

Bitter

Bitten into

Voraciously

Chocolate cake

Seems sweet

Sugar crystals turn

To salt when

Bitten into

With abandon

Chocolate cake

Seems sweet

Spongy, soft, soulful

But grates on the tongue

When chewed without

Thought

Chocolate cake

Seems sweet

Cream is slush

When layered way

Too quickly

Chocolate cake

Seems sweet

Eggs used rotten

When cracked

With too much

Gusto

Chocolate cake

Seems

Delicious

But must be served

Cold.

Okay, hands down my favourite part was the rotten eggs! Loved your poem!
