Childhood Gleam in Imiringi Village

A Reminiscence of my Childhood

In Imiringi village, a vivid memory lies,

Where trees encircle the burrow pit, under azure skies,

Ducks gracefully glide, on waters calm and serene,

As I recall the days of my childhood, so keen.

With Onayen and Jennifer, eager by my side,

Adventure beckoned us, in waters to abide,

From a lofty tree branch, we prepared to take flight,

While my mother's stern warnings echoed, filled with fright.

Her voice reached the heavens, a thunderous decree,

Of the condemnation and damnation, she'd unleash upon me,

Yet what choice had I, but to embrace the unknown,

To leap into the water, where freedom was sown.

With ducks as companions, we swam to the short-width shore,

Unburdened by worries, with laughter at our core,

Emerging from the pond, with elation unbound,

As my mother pursued, her footsteps the only sound.

I dashed through the meadows, my heart soaring high,

A nimble escape, as my feet swiftly complied,

Praying she would never catch me, in that wild race,

Vowing never again to venture into the water's embrace.

But fate had its way, and I knew deep within,

Another day would come, to repeat this joyful sin,

For the lure of the pond was too strong to resist,

A childhood enchantment, forever etched in our midst.

So, I embraced the cycle, the daring and the glee,

With Onayen by my side, where truest friends would be,

While her mother would chastise her in the end,

I too would flee from my sprinter mom, oh, my dearest friend!

Imiringi Village , where memories reside,

In the trees and the waters, where innocence would hide,

A testament to the bonds and the risks we would take,

In the pursuit of joy, and the memories we make.
