Cherish Your Parents
Cherish your parents while they're here,
Hold them close, show them you care,
For time goes by so very fast,
And precious moments never last.
Their hands were always there for you,
To guide, to comfort, to see you through,
They lifted you when you were down,
And turned your tears into a smile.
They worked so hard, they gave their all,
They answered every single call,
They put your needs before their own,
And never asked for praise or gold.
They taught you right from wrong,
They made you strong, they helped you grow,
Through every joy and every tear,
They always stood so very near.
But one day comes, as it must do,
When they're no longer there with you,
Their voices fade, their chairs sit empty,
And all you have are memories.
You wish you'd spoken more each day,
You wish you'd stayed a little longer,
You wish you'd told them, once again,
How much you loved and needed them.
So treasure every hug and kiss,
Don't take their love for granted bliss,
For when they're gone, you'll miss them so,
More than these words could ever show.
Cherish your parents, while you can,
For they're your greatest gift in life,
Their love will stay within your heart,
And guide you through, long after they're gone.
