A poem

Everything pales in comparison

I would drown in a sea of you forever

Yet here I am, washed up on shore

Looking at upturned palms

Unsure of how I got here

You still whisper in my dreams

You still sing me to sleep

And I am left here

A chasm for you

Drained and empty

Greener sides and greater tides

You've got some things to do

Or at least you say

You do

I'll watch you from afar

My shore is safe and dry

Carve into stone with steady hands

And thrash against forever

All things morph with time

But it is no longer me

You are shaping
