The thundering sound in my chest
Beats louder and louder
I swayed when walking away
He was looking at what was next
And on my worst day
A shift in arms extended to unextended
An inanimate object is touched instead
Joy bubbles up while warmth fills me
An uncertainty about what to do
While feeling pulled and drawn in
There is a pause before you move
Not a move I wanted but one I expected
Was it shyness that hit like lightning
Yet the body language was close
A certain drawn in manner that was clear
No invitations for more
Even after the most encouraging looks
About the Creator
Lisa Pulliam
I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.
