Certain and Uncertain

A short

A walk in the park, a drive in the rain

A kiss on the hand, or even a handshake

Long time in the bath, washing away a troublesome day

Back as soon as I leave...

Yet if I keep my head under the water

I forget what I was worried about at all

Leaving the water gone cold, I start to think and then I fall

Feelings are getting old, and I'm trying not to spiral

A look out the window, a foot out the door

The other trying the threshold

Step back inside now, don't ask for anything more

Please, don't go there, accepting what I've got...

More wouldn't be fair... an open and safe world, no care

It's impossible, or so they tell me.

It's impossible. For all of us to be free.
