Caressing Comfort
Find a loved one, there's time left yet
How cruel is the rude truth that Life is rough enough for all of us despite all our bluffs?
Given these ideas, you’ll find defining Comfort is easy - it’s the easing of what makes Life so tough
Comfort is a cool breeze on the beads of sweat trickling on your forehead from the stress of losing yourself in a forest of unknown trees before you fall onto your knees and roll over to rest on the floor of crunching leaves
Comfort is a warm hand squeezing your shoulder when fear takes over and panic attacks unprovoked to choke your throat
Comfort is mmm as you savor the flavor of the cake your mama baked you because it’s your day and red velvet’s your favorite
Comfort is ahhh while you drift into bliss, sipping drinks among friends while the winter cold does its best to chill your neck
Comfort is the way you loosen up when your partner shows you some love with a back rub because she knows your day truly sucked
Comfort is a punch to the gut when your sweet pup jumps you with a bath of kisses so you can’t get back up
Comfort is heart-meltingly toasty campfires under night skies full of flying stars while you kiss goodnight
Comfort is the extra few seconds at the end of a long hug because the terminal beckons and her flight is up so you force a smile and promise you’ll see her soon enough
Comfort is the moment you know she found the note you wrote and hid in the clothing of her rolling luggage
Comfort is stomach-churning nervousness when you realize this is it, she’ll be the one to raise your kids
Comfort is relief when she says yes and your best friends congratulate you and celebrate to clinking glasses until night’s end
But most importantly, comfort is the gentle knowing there’s more to know because you’re growing and going to make mistakes as life unfolds but that’s more than ok that’s just how it goes
And lastly, Comfort is peace in the twilight of our lives before we claim they came and went because we said the things we meant while there was still time
Hand in hand, heart to heart, cheek to cheek, soul to soul
Face to face, arms entwined, hair may gray, but life is gold
Grains of sand, pass the neck, leaves of change, turn autumn’s red
Comfort is Love, my dear friends, so find a loved one, there’s time left yet
