Candlelit Evenings

Day 44/365

By Ellie HoovsPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

An old beat up notebook

dog-eared, crinkled pages

a half dried up ink pen

moving in time with my heartbeat

soaking in thoughts and salted water

sipping wine

wiping tears

licking wounds

my lungs the bellows

blowing inspiriting whispers

upon the embers of passions

that were once thought ashes

falling,

ever so slowly,

in love,

with the realness of my reflection

on another candlelit evening
